Most employees spend over 60% of their waking hours at work, and increasingly these employees are asked to work longer and do more with less. Evidence is mounting as to the effects and cost associated with stress at work.

Healthworks® have developed the Outback Walkabout™ to enable progressive Australian companies assist their staff to improve performance by providing a program that encourages workers to maintain good health and wellbeing.

The Outback Walkabout™ program aims to:

  • Assist employees to benefit from a consistent walking routine;
  • Contribute to improved health and increased productivity in the workplace;
  • Build staff morale through a company wide activity.
  • Increase adherence & behavior change using attractive incentive prizes

Take your employees on an Outback adventure without even leaving the office!

Outback Walkabout™ is a 4-week trek through the Australian Outback, using pedometers to measure daily steps. This walking program is designed to help your staff develop a consistent walking routine so they'll become more active and healthier individuals.

Outback Walkabout™ is not a competition.  It's a program designed to challenge individuals at every fitness level to increase their physical activity in a unique, fun and interesting way!

It's easy to let your staff go walkabout

  • The program runs for 28 days.
  • Each participant wears a pedometer every day for 28 days.
  • Participants record their daily steps on a progress card.
