Here are some ideas for health and wellness this month.

    April 2 is World Autism Awareness Day. It’s also the start of Autism Awareness Month in Australia and Autism Queensland’s annual Go Blue for Autism campaign.

    Every year on April 1, April Fools’ Day DFES promotes the day as a reminder to regularly change smoke alarm batteries at this time each year using a high-quality, long-life battery.

    A national initiative that aims to raise awareness about kidney disease. This year’s theme is “Don’t be blind to kidney disease”

    World Parkinson’s Day
    Aims to raise awareness of the condition and change attitudes.

    World Creativity and Innovation Week
    Aims to remind and encourage people to use their creativity to make the world a better place and to make their place in the world better too.

    World Haemophilia Day
    Recognised worldwide to increase awareness of haemophilia and other inherited bleeding disorders. This year, the campaign suggests to Light it up Red!

    World Mother Earth Day
    Celebrated to remind each of us that the Earth and its ecosystems provide us with life and sustenance. This Day also recognizes a collective responsibility to promote harmony with nature and the Earth to achieve a just balance among the economic, social and environmental needs of present and future generations of humanity.

    An annual event to celebrate healthcare staff impacting patient experience everyday.

    World Immunisation Week

    National DNA Day
    Commemorates the completion of the Human Genome Project in 2003 and the discovery of DNA’s double helix in 1953.

    World Day for Safety and Health at Work
    This is a day for promoting safety and health in the workplace and to honour those who have died from work-related injury or illness. This year the theme is “Generation Safe and Healthy”, highlighting the importance of improving safety and healthy for young workers and generations to come.
