Stay Well Mental Health & Wellbeing Challenges
There are two major trends taking over workplace health - gamification & wearable tech. Healthworks brings these two forces together to get employees fit and healthy, both physically and mentally.
Every year one in five Australians will experience a mental illness and 14% of all Australians will suffer from some sort of anxiety disorder in any given 12-month period.
Our Mental Health and Wellbeing challenges are a great way to support and empower employees towards better health.
Employees discover new ways to reduce stress, improve focus and gain a greater sense of control in their life, while also learning a variety of mindfulness tools that they can apply to all areas of their life.

Step into Your Mind
Each week we provide tactics on ways to incorporate the benefits of mindfulness into everyday life, including specific tasks to complete each week. On completing each task, participants claim bonus points which count towards their team’s total. At the same time, we encourage teams to keep up their physical activity, through a gamified step challenge. Each participant records their daily steps, either manually or by syncing their fitness device to the site. The team with the most points wins, and prizes can also be given to other teams such as most improved or most motivated.
Aotearoa Steps and Sleep
Over four weeks, participants go on a “virtual trek” of New Zealand, from wherever they log on – at work, at home, on the train. Each week, we explore a different aspect of sleep, providing expert tactics along with a weekly tasks to help change sleep habits. Participants need to take at least 10,000 steps a day, so each week we provide virtual ideas on how they would achieve those steps, such as skiing at Queenstown, hiking around Milford Sound, or kayaking the Bay of Islands. Employees take part in teams of four. Teams compete to see who can earn the most points. Teams get points for steps and for sleep-based activities.
Tour de Brain
A new twist on the Journey theme of our other Activate Challenges, this team challenge presents mindfulness as a new kind of adventure: a journey around the brain. It also combines the individual journey of training your own brain to be healthy, with the social team journey of achieving 70,000 steps a week. Each week we’ll give useful tips and tactics for ways to boost your brain power. At the same time, we’ll encourage teams to keep up their physical activity, through a gamified step challenge taking them for a tour of their brain (a Tour de Brain). Both the steps and the brain sharpening tasks count towards points for the team and will be linked to what part of the brain they are 'visiting'.
